“Susana Horia” on vihuela/vocals is played by Solange Prat from Buenos Aires. Starred in Disney’s production of The Little Mermaid in Argentina. Front singer in 13-piece band, Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra.
“Elsa Pato” on vocals/dance is played by Maria Alea Jimenez from Colombia. Berklee School of Music graduate in Vocal Performance and front singer for Latin Jazz band, Alea.
“Coco Drilo” on leona/vocals is our Musical Director and played by Sinuhe Padilla-Isunza from Mexico City. Leona/jarana/vocals for Lila Downs. Front man of 10-piece Afro-Latin band Jarana Beat.
“Eddy Ficio” on trumpet played is by Hugo Moreno from Nuevo Leon, Texas. Yale graduate in trumpet. Trumpet-player for Gregorio Uribe Big Band.
“Mario Neta” on trombone/accordion is played by George Saenz from Laredo, Texas. Trombone/accordion player for Lila Downs.
“Esteban Dido” on drum set is played by Lautaro Burgos from Argentina. Drum set, percussion and vocals in off-Broadway Fuerza Bruta.
Concert + Community Outreach
The Bilingual Birdies Band consists of six NYC-based Latin musicians who are pioneers in the family world music scene. In FIESTA TROPICAL, they fuse the sounds of cumbia, salsa, tango, and samba, creating an epic dance party where families are exposed to and empowered by the rich cultural heritage of Latin America! Kids learn new words in Spanish and heart-warming life lessons in this one-hour highly energetic and interactive concert performance.
For Schools: Our Global Passport professional development workshops are available for school educators on how to embrace diversity in the classroom using music, movement and puppetry. Band members facilitate a two-hour teacher training for preschool to third grade teachers including original music CD downloads for all participants.

“Marcia Ana” on saxophone played is by Berta Moreno from Madrid, Spain and is the front woman for the Berta Moreno Quintet. Educated in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, she is electrifying on stage.
